On their website they say:-
We are excited to announce that we are going to be starting an LGBT+ social night once a month in Yeovil, as part of our ongoing #QueerAllYear campaign. “Let’s Get Beverages Together” is a friendly, informal meet up every third Tuesday of the month. It’s important for people to have a safe space where they can connect with other people who have similar experiences. The LGBT+ community is a spectrum and no two of us are the same, but it’s great to come together and be your authentic selves in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Network News Extract from their website. (posted here 04/12/2021)
Network new working name and organisation bring much needed outreach and influence development:
The Network has completed the main stages of it’s reorganisation, which included Charity Commission authorisation of our new Working Name ‘LGBT+ Network for Change’ and adjustment of aspects of our constitution Objects. Both of these bring the Network up to date with its pan-UK and enablement of pan-British Isles activity and strategy, whose development began 2+ years ago resulting from the major impact and nature of our more national to international level work and specialist interest areas successful work record and it’s impacts (reflected in our news items).
However, we have retained as our legal, Charity Commission authorised, founding name of ‘LGB&T Dorset Equality Network’ as this reflects the location of origin and continued activity in a number of areas in this locality; similarly our revised constitution includes specific reference to the pan-Dorset/BCP area, where we maintain a Chapter/branch of the Network. The experience base of this area has been very important in the evolution of the organisation’s work, and in areas such as our LGBT & LGBTQ+ homeless support multi-agency initiative, NHS engagement and partnerships, and with the prison service.

Stunning Rainbow Lasers in Dorset Sky ! (posted here 18/11/2021)
An amazing display of Rainbow Lasers is lighting up the sky across Poole and Bournemouth.
An amazing display of Rainbow Lasers is lighting up the sky across Poole and Bournemouth.
Below is an extract from The Poole Lighthouse website:-
"For three days in November, the night sky above our coastal region will be transformed by Global Rainbow, a monumental outdoor laser installation by American artist Yvette Mattern. Seven rays of laser light representing the colour spectrum of a natural rainbow will illuminate the night sky. Beaming direct from Lighthouse with its origin on our roof, the lasers will be visible across the BCP area as it heads out toward Hengistbury Head and beyond. The lasers will extend over 35 miles and you can take in the best view of the Rainbow by standing directly underneath and letting the beams soar overhead. You will also be able to find viewing points along the Rainbow’s trajectory. There will be an opportunity to stand under the source of the Rainbow at Lighthouse’s outdoor amphitheatre, too. |
Global Rainbow has been presented around the World from Toronto to Tokyo and now it’s Poole’s turn to be cemented on the map as a centre for cultural excellence. Global Rainbow signals our resilience and re-emergence from the dark days of 2020, bringing our BCP community together and giving us all hope for the future in a truly spectacular fashion."
You can read more about this art installation on the Poole Lighthouse website here :-

Comment from Weymouth Gay Group - Wouldn't this be wonderful if it was at the same time as Bournemouth Pride (BourneFree)! Brill though how this is on during Transgender Awareness Week! Would also be good during other Dorset or national LGBT events, like LGBT History Month. Plus it could tie in with the NHS Rainbow badge scheme.
If anyone has copyright free photos we can use, we would be most grateful. email [email protected]

Extract from Dorset Echo 26/10/2021. You can read the full story here - https://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/19672134.homophobia-behind-one-seven-hate-crimes-dorset/
Homophobia behind one in seven hate crimes in Dorset
Homophobia was behind one in seven hate crimes recorded in Dorset last year, figures reveal.
LGBTQ+ rights charities are calling for action to safeguard the community, as hate crimes based on sexual orientation have almost doubled in the last five years in England and Wales.
Dorset Police figures show the force received 144 homophobic and biphobic hate crime reports in the year to March.
It means someone's sexual orientation was a motivating factor in 16 per cent of the 1,019 hate crimes recorded in Dorset last year.
Charity Galop, which runs an LGBTQ+ hate crime helpline, said the pandemic has fuelled abuse, adding some callers said their attackers believe the outbreak to be a punishment for LGBTQ+ lifestyles.
The report ends saying - If you are a victim or witness of a hate crime or incident, report it to Dorset Police online at dorset.police.uk/do-it-online and click on the ‘Report a hate crime’ button. Alternatively, if you wish to speak to someone, call 101. In an emergency always dial 999.

Dorset Network goes pan UK (Posted here 25/10/2021, updated with logo 18/11/2021)
The LGBT Dorset Equality Network, which has done so much to support the local community is going national.
On their website they have said -
The Network is very pleased to announce that the Charity Commission has approved important adjustments to our organisation’s constitutional objects and the charity’s working/public name. We shall as a result in the next few weeks be adjusting our organisation logo, website address, Twitter handle, and finally with effect by the end of November, our email address.
These changes have been made to reflect our pan-UK (and in some areas, international) activity and effectiveness on challenging and informing policy change at government and public service organisations and agencies level. We however shall continue to have within our work (and this reflected in the new constitutional Objects) a pan-Dorset & BCP conurbation dimension.
More info here - lgbtdorsetequality.network/important-update-on-network-organisation-evolution/
Some of you may remember Alan Mercel - Sanca, who visited our group a few times and offered advice and support to many.

Olly pops out new book - with help from Dorchester mother & son
(posted here 15/09/2021, updated 19/10/2021) Friends of Weymouth Gay Group, mother and son, Mel & James, have helped Olly Pike produce a super new kids book "What Does LGBT+ Mean?" Olly Pike is very well known in the LGBT community for his excellent publications which help to promote acceptance and inclusion. His website is called "Pop'n'Olly". In their press release they said :- |
Dorset based Space Youth Project education volunteers, Mel Lane and James Canning, have been working with youtuber and children’s author, Olly Pike, to write a new book for kids, called What Does LGBT+ Mean? The book is aimed at children aged 8-11, but has also proved popular with adults wanting to understand more.
Packed full of information; questions and discussion ideas; and eye-catching, colourful pictures; the book has been very successfully trialled in schools. Although it is Olly, Mel and James’ names on the cover, hundreds of people were consulted. “We wanted to make sure the book was factually correct and appealing to a younger audience, but also that people with lived experience felt the language and content represented them accurately”, said Mel. “We are very grateful for all the guidance, advice and suggestions we received, including from SYP Trustee, Eli Moore, who also features in the book.”
James said he wanted to write the book because he wished that he’d had it in school. “It would have made a real difference to how I felt about myself”, he commented.
After several years working with teachers and school students, we know that often teachers are keen to be supportive and inclusive to LGBT+ students but they lack the confidence and are concerned about things like using the wrong terminology. This book was written as a confidence - builder for teachers and other adults to start a conversation and provide a positive image of LGBT+ people to younger children.
The book launches at a popup shop on Oxford Street, London, on Saturday 25 Sept. Anyone is welcome to come along and join Mel, James and Olly between 1-6pm. A Dorset celebration is also planned for later this year. Watch this space…
Note - we hope to bring you more info about the "Dorset celebration" soon, so check back here later.
You can order your copy of the book, and see Olly Pike's Educational website here - https://www.popnolly.com/
On twitter you can follow Olly here - @PopnOlly

Hailing from Leicester, UK, Grace has been writing, recording and touring relentlessly for over ten years. Her unique takes on life, love and politics, and the warmth and wit with which they are delivered, have won over audiences across the folk, alternative, LGBTQ+, political and comedy scenes and beyond."

“A Whole World Of Calm” has arrived in Weymouth! (Posted here 01/09/2021)
“A Whole World Of Calm” has arrived in Weymouth with the opening of a new shop – run by Barry & Danny.
“A Whole World Of Calm” has arrived in Weymouth with the opening of a new shop – run by Barry & Danny.
The shop, “Baan 57” in Weymouth’s picturesque St Alban Street sells a range of Equal Earth, Spiritual & Mythical gifts and crafts, New Age, Aromatherapy, Essential Oils, Buddha inspired gifts, Incense, and lots more. The shop also has a range of rainbow-coloured gifts, making it an idea place to find that birthday or Christmas gift for your LGBT friends. |
Colin from Weymouth Gay Group was particularly impressed with the range of Asian gifts and the couple’s knowledge of Asia. Hardly surprising as Danny has his roots there. We wish partners Barry & Danny (in picture above) well with the new shop, and hope they will join our Weymouth Gay Group social pub meet ups, once the busy summer season ends. But do pop in their shop before then and check it out, or if you are not local, their website. |
“Baan 57 was born with one goal in mind: To provide a friendly, approachable store. Our passion for our products has driven us from the beginning, and continues to drive us into the future. We know that every visit with us counts, which is why we strive to make experience as rewarding as possible. Come & say hello and check it out for yourself!”

Alexandra Heminsley Some Body to Love - at Dorchester Literary Festival
(Posted here 01/09/2021 updated 29/09/2021)
Please note:- This event has been cancelled. Contact organisers if you need more info. They said:- "We cancelled due to lack of ticket sales, Very disappointed by the response as it’s an important subject very sensitively handled but sadly we can’t afford to run loss making events"
We feel this this is a great shame, as we know many of you were interested in this and similar events.
The Dorford Centre Wednesday 13th October
"She'd just been told her then-husband was going to transition. The revelation threatened to shatter their brand new, still fragile, family."
Some Body to Love is Alex's profoundly open-hearted memoir about losing her husband but gaining a best friend, and together bringing up a baby in a changing world. Its exploration of what it means to have a human body, to feel connected or severed from it, and how we might learn to accept our own, makes it a vital and inspiring contribution to some of the most complex and heated conversations of our times.
‘A brave, thoughtful and timely book -- calming and inspiring on our different relationships with our bodies, and vitally compassionate on trans rights’ Naomi Alderman.
Alexandra Heminsley is an author, ghostwriter, journalist, broadcaster and speaker particularly known for encouraging women to enjoy sport and fitness. Her bestselling books include Running Like a Girl and Leap In. She lives in Hove with her son, and proudly co-parents her LGBT+ family.

(posted here 21/08/2021) - we will be updating this page as new photos and reports come in. (Updated 22/08/2021)
Dorset's biggest annual Pride event did not fail to attract LGBT people and allies, despite gloomy sky's they brought out the sunshine!
Love our friend Mel's comments (in Bournemouth Echo) - "It is an opportunity for people who may not necessarily know other people like them to meet others. It is a welcoming environment and everyone is really positive."
This years event was dedicated to the NHS and support workers who have done so much to support others during the pandemic.

Thanks to Jonai (NHS CMHT) for the photos below, he said:- "My Bourne Free Pride outfit was designed by Weymouth and Portland CMHT clients. The three of them deserve all the credits. WGG make Echo (posted here 20/08/2021)
Weymouth Gay Group (WGG) made the news in The Dorset Echo on Thursday 19th August. In an article promoting how the group has bounced back following the pandemic of the last few years. Numbers of guys attending are slowly increasing, with 8 to 14 attending on some nights. Of note, are a couple new guys who have been made welcomed by the group. The Swan on Thursdays has been very busy and it has been difficult to get a large table for everyone. Guys on Monday nights have enjoyed a range of local restaurants and pubs, but places have been limited, and fill up quickly. We hope you can join us soon, drop us an email to let us know you are coming along, and we will try and fit you in! email [email protected] * WGG would like to thank The Dorset Echo (esp reporter Ellie) for this coverage. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by. With this money, Space Youth Project can continue to provide support (and most importantly, fun!) for LGBT+ young people in Dorset." "Weymouth group provides flags, books, scholarships for Pride month"
(posted here 03/08/2021)
The efforts of Annemarie in welcoming LGBT people in Weymouth has been noticed by us - from the other side of the pond! Normally we only report local Weymouth Dorset UK news here, however, we loved reading about this, and hope you do too!
In a report in The Patriot Ledger in the USA they said -
"When Annemarie Reardon first got the idea to provide rainbow flags to Weymouth residents to fly during Pride Month, she said handing out 500 flags seemed like an ambitious goal. But the Weymouth Pride Project took off, and she and a group of residents raised enough money to give away more than 650 flags, provide a book about the pride flag to libraries in town and give two scholarships to high school seniors".
“It kicked it off and then it kept building,” Reardon said. “All these people who opted to hang a flag said 'We want LGBT people to feel welcome here.' It’s a pretty simple idea.”
You can read the full report via the link below, and what a fantastic idea this is! Would be wonderful if we in Weymouth Dorset UK could do something similar!

@WeymouthGayGrp for alert on @PinkNews article this morning (25th) on the disgusting transphobic assault that has taken place in Bournemouth. We contacted @PCCDorset and received a call in minutes by the DPCC directly.

Many of us have missed meeting friends down the pub. Weymouth Gay Group (WGG) guys are ready to welcome you back! Once it is ok to do so ....
At a recent (organising) meeting of Weymouth Gay Group guys all agreed to meet up with larger numbers in the pubs when permitted to, once restrictions are lifted. They all also acknowledge that covid restrictions have had a huge negative affect on our community (In many ways), and we are wishing life to soon return (asap) to some sort of normality when safe to do so. Everyone present agreed that our social pub group should bounce back asap! The idea of a beach BBQ (max 30 attending) was welcomed by most. No date set yet for one. Our BBQ's (weather dependant events) were very popular last year. Agreed that we should post details on our WGG events page, if and when we have them, and our pub meet ups. So love to see you all soon! For now - please check out our website. Love you to join us .... See - https://weymouthgaygroup.weebly.com/wgg-events.html twitter https://twitter.com/WeymouthGayGrp |

Weymouth's Closet Gay Bar expands (posted here 15/05/2021)
Weymouth's first and only Gay Bar has recently had it's application for expansion approved by Dorset Council. The Dorset Echo reported - "The Closet Bar and Nightclub and adjoining Somewhere Else Bar, on the corner of Maiden Street and St Edmund Street, has been given permission to be transformed into one larger venue and will now operate under one licence. The Closet has now taken out the partition walls to make a double walkway through the building connecting the two internally - with a bar on one side and a nightclub on the other. The new licence also enables the business to operate with one entrance and exit instead of two, giving door staff more control of people entering and leaving the premises." |
Interviewed in The Dorset Echo, owner Jamie said - : “Because of some of the alterations we’ve had to make to soundproof the building it has reduced the capacity as it was if they were two separate bars, but on a whole I think we’ll be able to offer a better experience at The Closet now. Sometimes less is a bit more".
“I’m happy that it’s been approved. We took on the concerns of neighbours and tried to make things better for everyone. We’re opening on the 17th May with table service in both spaces of the bar. There’s lots of things planned, lots of entertainment booked some drag queens and cabaret, etc".
"We’ve been shut seven months so we’re looking forward to opening back up again. I think it’s a much needed space in Weymouth and it’s good to promote the diversity of Weymouth as well.”

A Survey to gather views from those engaged with gender services in the South West
Hi, I hope you are well.
We are running a survey on behalf of the NHS to gather the views of those using non-surgical gender services - to help inform plans to develop this service.
The survey, which is for anyone that identifies as Transgender or gender diverse, resides in the South West of England and is over the age of 16 years old - has been co-designed by The Intercom Trust with advice from clinical and lived experience representatives from Devon Partnership Trust (DPT).
NHS England and NHS Improvement South West are working with DPT to consider how to develop the service for the future. The review of the service is at a very early stage.
The anonymous survey findings will be independently analysed by The Intercom Trust and will be shared with the NHS to inform the next steps, so we can collectively co-design integrated and person-centred care pathways for Trans and gender diverse people that dovetail in to both primary, community and secondary care settings to meet the needs of 21st Century South West residents.
It is important that we hear from as many voices as possible, so please share the survey amongst your trans contacts and friends that live in the SW. The more people that take part in the survey, the better.
The link to the survey is here: Gender Identity Services Questionnaire Survey (surveymonkey.co.uk)
Thank you and we appreciate any help you can give promoting this important survey.
All the best

Census 2021 - are you the only Gay in The Village? (posted here 27/02/2021)
Have you ever wondered how many like minded people (LGBT) live in your area or town? Well one result of the upcoming Census is that, that data will become known. You are invited to answer a question about your sexuality in the Census on March 21st. Weymouth Gay Group have been contacted by Joanna Keating the Dorset Census Engagement Manager with some helpful information and a press release (see below). The question development document (link at the end) is an interesting read for those of you who wish to know more. We are grateful to the Dorset LGBT Equality Network for reaching out to our members and introduction with Joanna Keating.
So perhaps, in a years time, we will know how many seats to reserve at our pub meet ups if everyone identified locally as LGBT in the Census turns up!

Census 2021 (posted here 27/02/2021)
Census 2021 - LGBTQ+ communities to be recognised for the first time
Press Release from The Office for National Statistics
For the first time, local-level information on the proportion of the population that is lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender will be gathered in next month's census.
Census 2021 - LGBTQ+ communities to be recognised for the first time
Press Release from The Office for National Statistics
For the first time, local-level information on the proportion of the population that is lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender will be gathered in next month's census.
Run by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) – the UK's largest independent producer of official statistics - the census is the once-in-a-decade survey that gives the most accurate estimate of all people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, except for 1941. Census 2021 will shed light on the needs of different groups and communities and ensure that planning and funding decisions by central and local governments, the NHS and the charity sector are based on the best information possible. As with all census questions, no personal information is shared, data is anonymised before aggregated statistics are used to shape policies and services. Following discussions, testing and research with the public, charities and government bodies, the census will ask two new questions relevant to LGBTQ+ communities on gender identity and sexual orientation. These questions will give a better understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender populations which will help organisations to combat any inequalities these groups may face and show where services are needed. |
The voluntary questions will be asked of those aged 16 years and over, so no one will be forced to answer if they do not want to. People can also request an individual census questionnaire and give their answers separately to their current household if they wish to.
lain Bell, deputy national statistician at the ONS, said: "While ther are estimates of sexual orientation at a national and regional level, it is not possible to produce robust estimates for all local authorities – that's what census data will give.
"And there is no robust data available on gender identity at all. These data are needed by local authorities and service providers to inform the provision of services. The sexual orientation and gender identity questions will be voluntary for people aged 16 and over.

"Without robust data on the size of the LGBT population at a national and local level, decision-makers are operating in a vacuum, unaware of the extent and nature of disadvantage which LGBT people may be experiencing in terms of health, educational outcomes, employment and housing." Census day is 21 March, with results available in 2022. It is ONS policy never to share personal details, and no-one, including government bodies, will be able to identify individuals in census data. Personal census records will be kept secure for 100 years and only then can future generations view them. The census will be run mostly online, with households receiving a letter with a unique access code in March, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on computers, tablets, phones or laptops. Paper questionnaires will also be available on request, along with language support via a free phone contact centre. For more information, please visit census.gov.uk. |

Jonai writes :-
"Last week I took a Valentine card to my husband Brian. I was very clear when I said to one of the staff to give the card to Brian Savage in a male bay bed 11. She took my card to the bay and then turned around and said this is not a female bay and came back to the board and asked me what was my wife's name. I informed her that I have a husband very clearly. Brian received my Valentine card." He went on to add "This just shows that Dorset County Hospital DCH needs LGBT training." We wish Brian a speedy recovery from his operation, and we hope DCH will learn from this incident. Photo right - Jonai at WGG stall Dorchester Love Parade a few years ago |

Questioning myself - my LGBT+ journey (posted here 15/02/2021)
In a second Dorset Mind Blog, an anonymous blogger shares their Questing and coming out story. This blog is well worth your time in reading it. The story will be familiar to many of us.
They start off saying "I first realised I probably wasn’t straight when I was 14 or 15. I first started experiencing mental health issues when I was around 10. For me, the two have gone together for longer than I can remember."
This inspirational person goes on to talk about difficulties while a young person, questioning their sexuality, describes their turning point, "finding myself", recovery, and being excited about the future.
They highlight how Education, peer & professional support eventually contributed to their recovery.
They end with this message - "So, this LGBT+ History Month my message to you is this: find your values, find what makes you you and the right people will find you. Whatever your sexual orientation, whatever your gender identity: be proud, because you’re fabulous. And for your mental health, remember: you’re the best friend you could ever have."

The Bourne Free Pride Weekend 2021 will be held on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th July at Meyrick Park, Bournemouth.
It was with great sadness that we took the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Bourne Free Pride weekend, especially as we had so many exciting things lined up for our new venue at Meyrick Park. We would like to thank the community, our volunteers, partners, sponsors and contractors for the support they gave us.
The last few months have been very strange and on behalf of all the Bourne Free Trustees we would like to send love and thoughts to the families and friends of everyone affected by Covid19, especially those who have lost a loved one due to this horrible virus.
Alongside the heart-breaking stories on the news we have also seen love and kindness, particularly from our emergency services and key worker heroes. They have shown resilience, bravery and kindness whilst supporting everyone in our community in their time of need regardless of nationality, religious beliefs, gender, race or sexuality. From everyone at Bourne Free we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you and well done.
With this in mind we’re proud to announce that the theme for 2021 will be ‘Stronger Together – Celebrating Our Emergency Services & All Key Workers’. Benjamin Horgan, Chair of Bourne Free, said – “All the Bourne Free Trustees have been blown away by the many stories of courage and hope that we’ve seen over the last few months.”
We want our 2021 Bourne Free Weekend to be an opportunity to recognise the people who are making a difference to our community; from NHS workers and carers to bus drivers, supermarket workers, posties and the unpaid volunteers who’ve given their time willingly. Come dressed to impress as your favourite key worker. From scrubs to uniforms, tabards to overalls and everything in-between to celebrate our real life heroes!
“We can’t wait to see everyone at Bourne Free next year and look forward to working with our principal sponsor Ageas Insurance to bring you a weekend that we promise will be worth waiting for.”
Note - please check nearer to event date that it is still running under any Covid regulations.

Appeal for support to our Weymouth & Portland LGBT+ community on GP survey on Covid 19 healthcare services
Posted here 16/01/2021
This story is copied from our friends at The Dorset LGBT Eqality Network. https://lgbtdorsetequality.network/
The Network wishes to thank Weymouth Gay Group (WGG) for news of a Weymouth & Portland area NHS General Practices services on NHS healthcare changes since the onset of Covid 19. We, with WGG, wish to thank Dorset CCG Officer, Jim Gammans for his communication below concerning Dorset CCG actively seeking LGBT+ community participation in the survey (deadline for responses 18th December).
As we are sure most community members know, there are a number of areas of reticence in involving in NHS performance and services improvement surveys — survey fatigue, bad experiences of community members using NHS services where LGBT+ support needs are concerned (signposting on ‘Coming Out’ as gay/lesbian/bi, or as Trans, etc.) — and of course encountering direct or perceived homophobic/biphobic and transphobic experiences on accessing or seeking to access NHS services at GP and other levels. The Network is working with pan-Dorset NHS organisations, especially Dorset Healthcare NHS University Foundation Trust to advise and implement the necessary changes required to address this NHS ‘LGBT+ engagement competence,’ community credibility and confidence issues. Here is Jim’s request (at the most conservative/restricted level never less than 6% of our general population in the UK, worldwide, and, yes, Dorset, are LGB&T — realistically speaking our LGBT+ population is more in the 10%+ region):
‘I’ve seen analysis of responses so far and only 2.5% of responses have identified as LGBTQ+, ideally it would be great to get a few more. Is there any chance you could share the survey with your contacts, supporters etc? The link to the survey is below, if you had any questions just message me or email: [email protected]. The survey closes next Friday (18th). If you are able to help that’d be great! Many thanks. Jim.

The Network regards this survey as important, and deeply appreciates Jim Gammans concern about very low LGBT+ community uptake on participation (clearly impacted by the very well-known and well-evidenced factors detailed by us above). The Network will in 2021 look forward to pursue Dorset CCG engagement on any particular needs on Weymouth & Portland NHS General Practices, LGBT+ community engagement/communication to seek, where appropriate, meaningful change/improvement.
Lessons and guidance from the Network for our friends in the NHS organisations of Dorset and of Bournemouth/Christchurch/Poole:
It is not always realised at NHS organisations senior management and strategic level just how great an asset for the NHS — and especially NHS credibility on LGBT+ community outreach — are our frontline NHS healthcare professionals who are LGBT+ community members (both Out and not Out as LGB or T). Their incredible record of care & professionalism needs to be properly recorded, and on a structured and regular quarterly to annual basis.
In terms of such NHS healthcare professionals the Network will be in the New Year commending for formal appropriate level recognition of Dorset Healthcare’s LGBT+ Staff Group and Pan-Dorset NHS LGBT Staff Group lead, Mr Jonai Da Silva. Jonai’s accomplishments as a mental healthcare profesional providing often literally, sometimes, life-saving support to both our sisters and brothers in our LGB & T communities, and broader LGB&T and non-LGB&T community in the Weymouth & Portland area, and beyond have been largely restricted in terms of awareness, to those whom he has supported as an exceptional NHS healthcare professional.
Such examples need to be much more effectively publicised if NHS organisations across Dorset and the Bournemouth/Christchurch/Poole area are ready to demonstrate earnestness on meaningful LGB&T communities engagement and support for our Community members (both outside, AND inside the NHS) where counteracting prejudice and indirect discrimination are concerned. The Network is ready to support NHS organisations at strategic to frontline levels in accomplishing that journey.
